Intern of Counseling

My name is Virginia Alworth I am an intern getting my degree in Clinical mental health counseling (CHMS) at Walden university. I have my bachelor’s degree in psychology at BYUI. As a counselor in training, I aim to be empathetic, understanding and non-judgmental when working with clients. I hope to be a person you feel safe to explore your thoughts, feelings and goals with. I love Zumba and appreciate how movement can help with your physical and mental wellbeing. I am passionate about working with People of all backgrounds, cultures, and ages. I love to work with adults, Teens, Children, Couples, families and LGBTQ+.
My background is working with children and teens with disabilities as a CNA and Intervention
specialist. I hope to be an advocate for these communities through my career
my approach is grounded in Cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and the internal family systems model.
I believe in a person’s ability to choose for themselves how they want to change. I hope to work together to resolve difficulties, improve overall wellbeing, explore the parts of oneself and find healing.
