Nilaja Montgomery
Intern of Counseling
This question—the title of a transformative book by Jenna Kutcher—reshaped how I view balance, wellness, and authenticity. It’s a question I believe we all deserve the time and space to answer honestly. As a pre-licensed counseling Intern at Burning Sage Therapy, I hold that space for you.
I specialize in working with trauma, navigating military life, adjusting to significant life changes, and supporting individuals and families within marriage and family systems. My approach is grounded in Adlerian Theory and Humanistic values, enriched with Person-Centered Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). I aim to co-create a safe, affirming environment where you can explore your experiences and rediscover your strengths.
I welcome adolescents and adults into the therapeutic process and am deeply committed to being a culturally responsible and LGBTQIA2S+ affirming clinician. Whether you’re feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or unsure where to begin, know that you’re not alone and don’t have to navigate it all on your own.
Let’s begin with that first honest answer: How are you, really?
