Alexis Patton
Intern of Counseling
My name is Alexis Patton, and I am a counseling intern currently pursuing my Master of Arts in Counseling with a Clinical Mental Health emphasis at the University of Colorado Colorado Springs, with an anticipated graduation date of May 2027. I earned my Bachelor of Arts in Psychology through the Honors Program at the University of Colorado Colorado Springs, with a minor in Health and Wellness Promotion, in May 2025.
As a counselor-in-training, I am dedicated to creating a supportive, compassionate, and nonjudgmental space where clients feel safe to explore their experiences, emotions, and personal goals. I believe that healing and growth occur through collaboration, and I view clients as the experts of their own lives. My role is to walk alongside you with curiosity, empathy, and respect as we navigate challenges together.
My therapeutic approach is grounded in person-centered therapy and trauma-informed care, allowing me to meet clients where they are while honoring their unique histories and strengths. I also incorporate mindfulness and somatic approaches to support mind–body awareness, as well as existential perspectives to explore meaning, values, and personal agency.
I have a particular interest in working with individuals experiencing depression, anxiety, trauma and PTSD, and those impacted by adverse childhood experiences. I am trained in Psychological First Aid through The National Child Traumatic Stress Network, which has strengthened my ability to provide support during periods of crisis and emotional distress.
I am passionate about working with individuals from diverse backgrounds and identities and am committed to fostering a therapeutic relationship built on trust, safety, and collaboration. Together, we can identify strengths, build resilience, and work toward greater emotional well-being and personal growth.
